Derek started his career in HVAC shortly after he completed his Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. With now nearly a decade of experience in the industry, Derek brings his knowledge from on-site to office to encompass the entire project.
When he is not working, Derek enjoys a good game of golf, cycling and spending time outdoors with his wife and young daughters.
I was raised in: Dublin, Ireland
What do you enjoy most about the industry: No two days are the same. We are always working on different sites in different locations across western Canada. I enjoy the diversity each day brings.
What is your fondest memory from your career so far: In my first few months I was tasked with a job in Dawson City, Yukon. Being new to Canada at the time it was very exciting to be somewhere so remote.
What effect do you want to have on your industry with your work: I want people to feel comfortable where they work or reside with safe air quality.
The song that gets me on the dance floor: Come on Eileen by Dexys Midnight Runners
People would be surprised if they knew: I cycled my bicycle from Mile zero Victoria, BC to Mile zero St. Johns, NL in the summer of 2021
