Starting in the balancing industry in 1977 Lorne has retired after 44 years. With his extensive experience with all types of mechanical systems he is a great asset to Raincity Technical Services on a consulting basis. He was a journeyman balancing technician before commissioning was introduced to this industry and attended seminars which helped initiate this process. With his long career and experience he can foresee problems and help in rectify them before the on-site work begins.
Starting at a young age he has seen many changes in mechanical systems. Pneumatic systems were the control systems of the day as no DDC systems were developed. (before the computer age) He found it very interesting later and helped control companies in the programming to achieve proper control of systems. Back in the day measuring instrumentation was not as it is today and knowledge of how to properly measure a system was essential. He has thoroughly enjoyed his career and challenges that came with it.
