  • Muhammad Zohaib

I have a background in civil and environmental engineering, and after transitioning into the HVAC industry, I now work as a TAB (Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing) Technician. Passionate about energy efficiency and advanced systems, I focus on optimizing building performance and contributing to sustainable, eco-friendly solutions.

What do you enjoy most about the industry:
What I enjoy most about this industry is the technical challenges and the opportunity to learn and work with advanced systems. Every project brings a new set of problems to solve, and I’m constantly evolving my knowledge base.

Why did you choose to work in your industry:
I chose this field because of my interest in mechanical and HVAC systems and the fact that back home, these systems are often not as advanced or complex. When I came to Canada, I saw an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a growing and stable industry. I’ve always been passionate about engineering, and with my background in both civil and environmental engineering, the TAB field gave me a chance to expand my knowledge while working on something that can positively impact the environment.

What are you complimented on most in your work:
I’m most often complimented for being easy to work with and for explaining technical concepts clearly. Whether it’s a teammate or a client, I make sure people feel comfortable asking questions and fully understand the work being done. I believe communication is just as important as technical skill, and I try to bring both to the job every day.

What is your favourite hobby:
My favourite hobby is watching movies. I’ve watched thousands across different languages and genres to explore cultures, and storytelling from around the world.

Favourite movie: The Secret in their Eyes

Who is someone you admire, and why?
I admire my father. He came from humble beginnings and worked incredibly hard to give me and my six siblings the opportunity to study at the best universities. His perseverance and determination to make sure we had a better future, despite the odds, is nothing short of a feat. He taught me the value of hard work, sacrifice, and the importance of education.

What are you surprisingly good at:
I am surprisingly good at cricket. I used to captain a team years ago, and while I don’t play as often now, I still sneak in for a game now and then.
