Preet joined the HVAC industry in 2026. Before entering the trades, he spent several years working in retail and customer service while completing a Diploma in Business Management at BCIT. He was drawn to HVAC because of the hands-on nature of the work, the opportunity to solve problems every day, and the chance to continuously learn new skills. He enjoys working in an industry where no two days are the same and where there is always something new to learn.
What do you enjoy most about the industry?
I enjoy the problem-solving aspect of the job. Every day presents different challenges, and there is always something new to learn. It is rewarding to see a project come together and know that your work helps buildings operate efficiently and effectively.
Why did you choose to work in your industry?
I wanted a career that was hands-on, challenging, and offered opportunities for growth. HVAC stood out because it combines technical knowledge with practical problem-solving.
Have you changed careers? What was your first career?
Yes. Before HVAC, I worked in retail and customer service for several years. Those roles taught me how to communicate effectively, work with different people, and stay calm under pressure. The skills I developed there continue to help me in my current role.
What is your favourite hobby?
Playing soccer. I enjoy the competition, teamwork, and the time spent with friends. No matter what is going on in life, being out on the pitch always brings me a different kind of joy.

Fast & Furious 5.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
I would choose to live in India, specifically my hometown near Mumbai. My grandparents and many of my childhood friends still live there, so it will always feel like home to me. I love the atmosphere, the sense of community, and the fact that the area has a bit of everything—beautiful beaches, green hills, growing city skylines, and great food. It is a place that brings back many great memories and is where I feel most connected to my roots.
